Tofu Scramble

There is nothing better than a protein packed breakfast to start your day energized and happy. This tofu scramble recipe is simple and easy to make and is ready in about 15 minutes. With just seven ingredients you will have breakfast ready for you in no time.


The best tofu to use for this recipe is firm tofu. Using anything softer will make it mushy and less of an egg consistency. Some other recipes call for adding a little bit of almond milk, if you prefer this feel free to add it, I just prefer it to be a little on the crispy side so I leave this ingredient out.


Cooking tofu on the stove in this style is similar to scrambling an egg, however, the tofu cooks rather quickly but the longer you have it cooking the more you will get that egg consistency with a little bit of crispiness.



Tofu Scramble

Servings: 2

Duration: 15 minutes


Ingredients:

  • 1 block of firm tofu

  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 onion chopped

  • 3-4 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions:


  1. Press the tofu to remove excess liquid. Break up the block of tofu into scrambled like pieces into a medium sized bowl .

  2. Chop the onion well. Add all the ingredients to the bowl and mix till well combined.

  3. Heat up oil in a pan and add tofu mixture. Cook throughly for a least 6-8 minutes (If prefer crispier tofu cook for additional time)

  4. Serve and enjoy!
